Inclosure No 3 in Despatch No 126 of 1849 HC. M. Steams vessel "Mcdea",

at Hongkong,

12th of September,

1849.

I have the honor to report to you that I left Tempak Roads on the evening of the 8th instant, in further search of information relative to the missing vessels. At 6.30th the following morning I arrived off the Taya Islands and spoke several fishing junks, all of whom were aware that a British lugger had been seized by the Pirates, but had heard and seen nothing whatever of any other vessels either having been wrecked or captured; and every one of them stated that the fleet of piratical vessels had gone to Tionpak.

Captain E. N. Troubridge, Her Majesty's ship "Amazon."
